Maverick Music Festival is almost upon us (April 10 & 11), and before you head down to the musical madness of La Villita, why not map out your game plan. Gotta carb up before your dance your ass off? Want to keep things on the cheap side so you can blow your cash on merch? Need to impress that date you're taking? We've got all sorts of suggestions comin' at you.

Acenar: If you don't want to hoof it all the way to Southtown for a decent plate of Tex-Mex or cool botanas, this is your place.

Alamo Street Eat Bar: Keep it super casual with food truck fare and a cold one.

Azuca: Mojitos will help loosen you up to get your dance on at Maverick Plaza. Happy hour runs 4-7 p.m. with specials on rum-laced favorites.

B&D Ice House: You'll need your energy to keep going through the night. Grab a few ribs, salt-and-pepper brisket and a glass of Cherry Kool-Aid in Southtown's first 'cue place.

Biga on the Banks: Bear with me on this one. Why not make it a night with a classy-ass dinner before you take in local bands and your favorite throw-back from the nineties?

Lüke River Walk: Shoot some oysters, wash it down with a French 75 or local brew. This too steers into the pricier category, but you're already downtown, so why not?

Mexican Manhattan: I can't vouch for most of their menu, but the shredded chicken tacos are pretty legit.

Schilo's: They're open until 8:30 p.m. every night. Pre-party with some cold root beer and a tasty cup of split pea soup.

Whataburger: Save this one for after you've depleted your energy and loaded up on beers.
