Three-pound cinnamon roll eating contest? I am so there

Lulu's Bakery & Cafe (918 N. Main), your go-to place for a post-bar chicken fried steak binge, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a week of contests and specials.

The celebration begins Thursday, May 14, with all-you-can-eat chicken fried steak. (Challenge accepted!). On Friday, May 15, if you can pack food away like a champ, you're in luck. The diner is hosting two 3-pound cinnamon roll eating contest at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. You may want to practice eating things as big as your head, because there is a $200 cash prize for the winner.

Saturday May 16, the diner is hosting a meatier eating challenge. Diners who order a 21 ounce Texas Ranger Chicken Fried Steak and finish the meal in 12 minutes or less will have their meal comped and receive a Lulu's T-shirt and a place on the 24-hour restaurant's hall of fame.

Kids eat free on Sunday, May 17, and the diner is offering 10 percent off its entire menu on Monday, May 18. All-you-can-eat chicken fried steak returns Tuesday, May 19. And the anniversary celebration finishes off next Wednesday, May 20, with a buy one entree get a second free special.

So if you're a chicken fried steak fiend, or if your name is Ron Swanson, Lulu's is the place to be starting tomorrow. Healthy eating habits be damned.
