Friday, October 9:
Alamo Beer Brewery is hosting a weekend-long Oktoberfest that'll kick off German festivities from biergarten to polka dancing with entertainment from The Tubameisters in between. Come Saturday to join in on polka lessons (with brewer James Hudec!)  as well as dig in with some food truck grub and Alamo Brewery's new ALAMO Oktoberfest beer. Friday, October 9: The San Antonio Museum of Art will serve cocktails to celebrate this fine evening with the Roman Bacchnanal. Mingle over light music and gallery talks the SAMA will host as well as conclude. Free with museum admission, 5:30-6pm, 200 W. Jones Ave., (210) 978-8100,

Sunday, October 11:
Taps Y Tapas is hosting a Sunday brunch kitchen takeover hosted by none other than the pitmaster himself, Emilio Soliz of Sweet Christi's BBQ. Bottomless mimosas will pour as well as a special country kick on the menu chef Soliz has planned with his homemade biscuits and gravy and brisket hash. Prices vary, 10-3pm, 1012 N.
