If you gave up coffee as part of your resolution for 2016, A) whyyy???? and B) you might want to look away right now.

But if you didn't give up the wonderfulness that is coffee and all things latte, Press Coffee (606 W. French Pl., 210-602-6590) will welcome baristas from across the region for the monthly Thursday Night Throwdown on January 7 at 6 p.m.

The event pits latte art aficionados in creating the best foam tulips; submissions are judged by coffee industry folk — buyers, roasters, etc. — until a top latter artist is chosen.

There's a $5 buy-in fee for contestants. Get there early, and get your spot. The event is free for spectators.
