Beginning today, March 4, Pharm Table Cafe (106 Auditorium Cir., 210-802-1860) is extending its Friday and Saturdays hours to include a 6-9 p.m. pre-fixe dinner and a la carte selection.

The $28 dinner features an Ayurvedic ginger starter, followed by your choice of either a pea tendril, rutabaga and fennel soup with nutmeg and Iraqi mint or a roasted carrot soup with pepita and fennel pesto. Main courses consist of Berbere lamb and red lentil kefta or a vegetarian option of sprouted buckwheat risotto, roasted winner roots and fennel charmoula. The final dish of the evening, a mizuna, afro kale and roasted ginger beet salad, is served as a palate cleanser.

A la carte fare ranges from nikkei gulf drum ceviche to vegan mezze platters, and a few dessert items (like brownies!) in between.

Pharm Table was recently recognized  as one of USA Today's healthiest restaurant in San Antonio, and this appreciation reflects the efforts of chef Elizabeth Johnson in transforming the way her customers eat. Johnson crafts her cuisine around the Ayurvedic foundation and anti inflammatory cooking, which emphasize nourishment and eating for one's particular body type through the elimination of dairy, wheat and processed sugar. All of Pharm Table's ingredients are locally sourced and grown too, meaning that each component of your meal is of the highest quality (and organic!).

Pharm Table is also extending its lunch hours on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will continue its services of weekly pick-up meals and educational classes. For a complete calendar listing of classes, click here.
