Sukeban, a new Asian fusion restaurant, has opened at 1420 S. Alamo St., Suite 101. The eatery is run by Mon Thai owners Gerry Shirley and wife Amonrat.
First reported on by the San Antonio Express-News, Sukeban carries the usual menu items found at other sushi joints (with an especially thorough nigiri selection) along with an extensive list of bubbles. The eatery, which turned the former Barraca space into a hip spot filled with vibrant colors and anime-style art, will open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
