Posted By and on Fri, Jun 3, 2016 at 6:05 AM

Put that mimosa down. It's time for you to expand your brunch palate and give savory, funky, caffeine-filled libations a shot. We've rounded up six of your soon-to-be brunch favorites from local restaurants. Bottoms up.

La Sangrona at The Fruteria
1401 S. Flores St., (210) 251-3104
Leave it to chef Johnny Hernandez to give us a variation on the bloody mary with a tequila twist. Mixing tomato juice, lime juice, Tres Generaciones Blanco tequila and finished with a dash of Worcester sauce and celery, La Sangrona is the drink of choice for selective brunchers.

That Funky Monkey from Barbaro
2720 McCullough Ave., (210) 320-2261
Beer fans who have a penchant for sweetness will want to imbibe this citrusy and fun beer cocktail that combines Belgian Ale, with Campari's sweeter cousin Aperol and fresh orange juice.

Pick Me Up from Grayze
521 E. Grayson St., (210) 481-8776
Blink and you'll miss this tiny, but powerful concoction on this week's cover just above the "h" in Brunch. It’ll wake you right up for Sunday Funday as it contains an espresso shot, Licor 43 and lemon cream. It's their take on the Spanish Carajillo.

Orange Whip from Folc
226 E. Olmos Drive, (210) 822-0100
It’s basically a boozy Orange Julius with vodka, rum, orange juice, cream, lemon and sugar. A tasty little shake to get your juices going.

Bloody mary's Hillbilly Cousin from Mash’d
17623 La Cantera Pkwy., #107, (210) 538-5833
We're talking moonshine, y'all. Mash'd takes moonshine infused with tomato, garlic and jalapeño, mixed with a signature bloody mary mix prepared in-house with chipotle peppers. Add jumbo shrimp for $1 more each.

Rebecca Creek bloody mary from Lüke San Antonio
125 E. Houston St., (210) 227-5853
Ditch that mimosa for a big ass bloody and an Alamo Beer chaser. This 28-ounce shareable beverage will help wake you up for Sunday brunch and it comes with a small market's worth of snacks to nosh on while you wait for your eggs. Win-win-win.
