H-E-B Mobilizes Disaster Relief Kitchens, Lists Store Closures

You know things are getting real when H-E-B closes their stores. The San Antonio-based grocery chain announced several steps it has taken to deal with the weekend's looming hurricane.

As of Friday, 10 city stores in Corpus Christi and Houston have closed, and others in Beeville and Cuero closed at 3 p.m. on Friday. Stores in Kenedy and the Kenedy Convenience, along withe Yoakum store will close Friday at 7 p.m.



All San Antonio stores remain open as of 5 p.m. Friday. See a complete list of closures here.

H-E-B is sending two of their Mobile Kitchen, which can feed up to 2,000 people per meal, as well as 15 vehicles filled with food, dry goods, water, duel and a mobile pharmacy unit.

Stores will also launch a new tear-pad campaign, which will allow customers to add $1, $3 or $5 to their total grocery bill to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
