Mark's Outing has seen better days, according to owner and namesake Mark Outing. And citing "tremendously slow" business days, Outing is reaching out to the community for help.

Per a Facebook video, Outing is seen explaining debt he's accrued in the past few years. And he's not asking for money. His plan is getting folks in to try a burger. "It's very simple, stop by Mark's Outing today... and purchase a big, fat, juicy burger today and then I'll be able to pay our staff, the bills including the debt, while making a living providing for our family and those who have needs. That's it."

Outing, who first opened Fatty's Burgers in 2005 and later rebranded the spot as Mark's Outing, says he's seeing less than 40 people on a normal business day. The restaurant is known for its homestyle burgers, and customizable toppings (including ice cream). During previous National Cheeseburger Days, Outing has offered free burgers in exchange for donations to multiple charities including the Claude Black Youth Leadership Institute, a non-profit program that helps at-risk youths in the East Side and military servicemen and women.

"There's plenty of good people I deal with who I've known for 12 years now and they shrug their shoulders and say they can hold off," Outing said about his debt.
