This Year's Repeal Day Celebrations Will Feature Burlesque, Booze and More

Posted By on Mon, Dec 4, 2017 at 4:07 PM

Remember that ridiculous thing called prohibition? Thank god that's long over with. San Antonio, of course, will celebrate the repeal of prohibition with parties and events all over town this Tuesday. Here's how to celebrate Repeal Day.

The Esquire Tavern and Downstairs at the Esquire is not only celebrating repeal day but Esquire's 84th birthday as well. Coincidence? I think not. Join the fun with complimentary bubbles, punch and food. Performances by Stars and Garters Burlesque and The Dirty River Dixie Band will begin at 8 p.m. 7-11pm, 155 E. Commerce St., (210) 222-2521.

Jazz, TX is celebrating the end of an era by taking you back to 1933, with the music, attire and cocktails that came from the time of prohibition. Champagne and punch specials will be offered all night and The Dirty River Dixie Band will be performing at 5:30 p.m. with no cover. Enjoy Doc Watkins and His Orchestra at 8:30 p.m. $20, 5-11:59 pm, 312 Pearl Pkwy., (210) 322-9386.

The Brooklynite is celebrating with $5 old fashioneds, $5 Fitzgeralds, $4 shot specials and $3 select beer and, of course, a Champagne toast. 516 Brooklyn Ave., (210) 444-0707.
