In an effort to drive blood donations, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q is partnering with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center to reward San Antonians that donate blood.

Now through April, the local BBQ chain will give away a free slice of pie for those who donate blood. Here's how it works: Bill Miller will be offering a "Buy One Get One" t-shirt to all blood donors. Then, donors can take advantage of the reward – buy a Bill Miller combo and you'll get a free slice of pie.

"Our goal was to come up with an innovative idea that would not only encourage our customers to step up in the community, but to create a sense of unity in our fanbase community through the shirts," said PJ Peek, director of quality assurance. "It's like an exclusive club of donors that are doing something great for the community. We all win!"

According to a press release, the STBTC said 38 percent of people are eligible to donate, but only 4 percent actually do so.
