Time to get in the car and head on up to New Braunfels, y'all. Wurstfest is back in town beginning today.

For 10 days, Wurstfest will bring Texans near and far an exciting mixture of food, music, games, a carnival and endless beer to celebrate New Braunfels' German culture.

Actually, the fest started in 1961 as an ode to sausage. Hence, WURSTfest.

This year's offering will run from Friday, Nov. 2, to Sunday, Nov. 11. Gates open today at 4 p.m., with regular opening times being 5 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on the weekends. Each night concludes with live entertainment, closing out at 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and midnight on Saturday.

The annual sausage fest welcomes thousands of visitors every year. This year, the grounds are 20 percent bigger, accommodating for a new biergarten area and a larger carnival area. There's also mini golf this year.

Admission and beer tickets are cash only, though ATMs are available on-site if need be. You can also purchase beer tickets online. Here's a pro tip: admission is free during select times. Check out those times here.

You can purchase tickets ($15) and find more information on the Wurstfest website.
