Great Books: Voices On Violence
Gemini Ink’s Voices on Violence series continues with a discussion about acclaimed Mexican author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Luis Alberto Urrea’s non-fiction novel
The Devil’s Highway, moderated by Octavio Quintanilla and featuring a performance by San Antonio writer Anel Flores. Deemed a modern American classic, the award-winning book follows a group of 26 men who, in 2001, attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border into the desert of Southern Arizona, through a deadly region known as the Devil’s Highway.
