Presented in the spirit of Juneteenth celebrations, the Indep Arts & Film Festival is committed to supporting artists and filmmakers in their abilities to create, inspire and share within our community. Highlights from the four-day fest include screenings of films by Geeta Gandbhir, Ya’ke Smith, Sai Selvarajan, Cedric T. Smith, Marcellus Cox and others
(free, 6-10pm Thu, Santikos Rialto, 2938 NE Loop 410); a ribbon cutting ceremony and art exhibit at the new East Side resource center EastPoint
(free, 5:30-10pm Fri, 718 N. Cherry St.); an artist and artisan market with performances by Pink Leche, Pop Pistol and Boca Negra at Alamo Beer
(free, 5-10pm Sat, 202 Lamar St.); and a Second Sunday Smooth Jazz Concert on the Hays Street Bridge featuring BillyRay Sheppard and benefiting the Ella Austin Community Center
