Fitting for a venue named after a fragrance from Tom Robbins’ 1984 cult classic Jitterbug Perfume, K23 plays host to San Francisco’s Part Time — a band trafficking in a synth-driven sound Vice likened to something “straight from London in 1984.” Launched in the late ’90s “as a diversion” for multi-instrumentalist/vocalist David Speck (aka Davida Loca) and later rounded out as a full band with ties to both Burger Records and Mexican Summer, the lo-fi outfit mines a dreamy, experimental territory reminiscent of Ariel Pink and Mac Demarco. Also on the bill: Spirit Stuff and Hidden Ritual. $7, 5-8pm Sun, K23, 702 Fredericksburg Road, (210) 776-5635, k23gallery.wix.com/k23tx. – BR
