Nine 4th of July Events To Hit Up In San Antonio

In case you're wondering where to let freedom ring this weekend these are the following places where you can do just that. Also keep in mind that San Antonio will be celebrating the Gay Pride Parade and Festival as well (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crockett Park, 1300 N Main Ave.) so you can keep that party on strong. And if you feel like partaking in the theme park extravaganza, both Seaworld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be hosting their own type of celebrations.

4th of July Celebration At Woodlawn Lake Park

For starters the Official 4th of July party that is hosted by San Antonio will be hosted at Woodlawn Lake in pure red, white and blue fashion. There will be fireworks, food, freedom, a kid’s zone to drop off the little buggers and even a parade. Free, Woodlawn Lake Park, July 3-4, 8am- 12am, 1103 Cincinnati, saparksfoundation.org



Sea World Fireworks Spectacular

Seaworld San Antonio will be hosting their celebration on both July 3 and July 4. These days tend to be some of the busiest days of all the entire year so be sure to get there early. Their parking lots will open at 8 a.m., with the entrance plaza opening at 9 a.m. and the park officially opening at 10 a.m. In case you only want to celebrate the freedom their celebrations will commence at 7:30 p.m. in the Ski Stadium with a 15 minute firework display beginning at 9:45 p.m. If you want to reserve seats, you'll have to fork out an additional $25/$20 for members, that includes a few extra perks. Six Flags Fiesta Texas 4th Of July Fest


Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be hosting July 4th Fest presented by Coke from July 3-July 5. The Alamo: Where The Price Of Freedom Is Free

There will be plenty to do at the Alamo, from hearing the Declaration of Independence being read aloud, bands playing folk songs, musket demonstrations and even free paletas for visitors. Free, Alamo,July 4, 9am-3pm, 300 Alamo Plaza, 210-225-1391.



The San Antonio River Walk

Along the banks of the River Walk various vendors will be displaying their handmade creations. This event will feature many local artists, jewelers and craftsmen. Free, River Walk, July 2-5, 11am-11pm, 110 Broadway, (210) 227-4262.

Market Square Freedom Fest

The Historic Market Square will be hosting, Freedom Fest, or 2 days filled with live music, food and activities for the kids. Free, Historic Market Square, July 3-5, 12-8pm, 514 W. Commerce, 210-207-8600.

Commemorative Air Force Independence Weekend

If you're feeling ultra-patriotic, then head on down to the Stinson Air Field for their annual Commemorative Air Force Independence Weekend. There will be 3 awesome days filled with many different vintage and historic aircrafts and vehicles. And if you want to be even more part of the action, then don't forget to register with the Commemorative Air Force to ride aboard an airplane including, “Texas Raiders” B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-25 “Yellow Rose,” the C-47 “Bluebonnet Belle,” as well as the U-3A “Blue Canoe.” Free, Stinson Municipal Airport, July 3-5, 8535 Mission Road, 210-207-1800.

Morgan's Wonderland Salute To America's Heroes

Lastly, check out Morgan's Wonderland for their annual 4th Of July - Salute To America's Heroes, a park wide celebration of all things America. They'll be handing out hot dogs and apple pie for a limited time for free and they'll be hosting an array of different commemorative things.
