Annual 4x5 Photo Fest Returns to San Antonio This Saturday

Now in its third year, and moved from November to September, 4x5 Photo Fest is an annual, roving, one-day photography festival that includes exhibition, networking and education components.

The unique event is ideal for photographers of all levels, community and business folks looking to connect with photographers, and anyone who’d like to experience great work in the medium and learn from some of the best. Keynote speaker for the fest will be much-lauded, veteran photographer Eli Reed, who has been a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos since 1988 (he’s now on the foundation’s board) and has published work in National Geographic, The New Yorker, Sports Illustrated, Vogue and GQ, among many others.

Other notable aspects of this year’s festival include a panel on women in photography, an artist talk by Spurs photographer Mark Sobhani, a copyright workshop led by local media-law attorney Alicia Wagner Calzada, printing and Lomography workshops, and more. Visit the website below for scheduling information and to register for individual workshops (some are not free, FYI).

Free, Sat Sept 15, 11am-8pm, East Crossing, 125 Lamar St., 4x5photofest.com.
