The Carver Cultural Center and StoneMetal Press present a series of events for Black History Month, featuring artist Steve Prince. The opening reception for Urban Epistles: End Notes, a linoleum print series by Prince, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 13, at the Carver, 226 N. Hackberry. A demonstration and hands-on workshop with Prince will follow on Saturday, January 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at StoneMetal Press Studio, 1913 S. Flores. Worth Repeating II: African American Originals by Prince and Joanette Duncan will open at 7 p.m., January 14, and hang through February 25 at StoneMetal Press Gallery, Building B, Blue Star Art Complex, South Alamo at Probandt. Angel Garcia Clemente and Rosa Collantes

Puro Tango de San Antonio and the Instituto de México, 600 Hemisfair Plaza, present a 3-Day Tango Extravaganza January 13-15, featuring Master Argentine Tango Dancers Angel Garcia Clemente and Rosa Collantes. The Passion of Tango presents a spectacular performance of Argentine Tango, Malambo, and Salsa at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 13. A two-day tango workshop for beginners and intermediates led by Clemente and Collantes begins at noon on Saturday, January 14, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, with lessons on tango floor craft, technique, patterns, embellishments, and volcadas.
