Why couldn't the little pirate get into the movie? Because it was rated Rrrrrrr. Bad jokes aside, if you've a fancy for the pirate talk it's time to polish up and earn some money with your hobby. Ripley Entertainment kicks off its first Talk Like A Pirate Contest this summer at three national locations, including the Believe It Or Not Museum across from the Alamo. Put a parrot on your shoulder and head down to Alamo Plaza for the contest's stop in San Antonio at 11 a.m., June 25. Contestants have 30 seconds to impress the judges with diction and swagger. Costumes are encouraged. Ripley's judges will critique style, voice, and uniqueness, and also may call participants to the stage more than once. The three categories are men, women, and children under 14. The top three winners in each category will take home a chest of booty (cash and prizes).
