Artpace alumna and zingmagazine editor Devon Dikeou exhibits her art trove in the Hudson (Show) Room: "Swap Meet: Artpace and the Dikeou Collection;" Westside activist collective Más Rudas demonstrates Chicana consciousness in a multimedia install in Windowworks. Opening November 15: international artist-in-residence exhibition IAIR 12.3 curated by Heidi Zuckerman-Jacobson, with Dor Guez (Tel Aviv, Israel), David Benjamin Sherry (Los Angeles), and Sarah Sudhoff (San Antonio).

This fall it's all about love. "Adad Hannah: Intimate Encounters," presents photography and video (featuring local artists as models) made at SAMA; "Love in Three Capitals" is a rare 12-piece collection of Japanese erotic prints from the era of the Shogunate; "Rostros de Maria: The Virgin as Archetype and Inspiration" presents portraits of the Madonna from Europe and Latin America; "Aphrodite and the Gods of Love" features 125 statues, vases, terracotta and bronze figures, mirrors and jewelry from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The Witte Museum
"Mummies of the World" presents the largest touring collection of human and animal mummies, with a 6,420-year-old child mummy from Peru, the remains of a German nobleman found in a 14th century castle, a howler monkey from Argentina in a feather boa, and the usual Egyptian fare. New stories of these ancient wonders are told through DNA analysis, radiocarbon dating, and computer tomography.
