We still don't have hover boards though.
In celebration of Marty McFly's arrival to 2015 in
Back to the Future II, San Antonio is hosting a number of film screenings and events to celebrate Back to the Future Day.
October 21, 2015 is the date McFly, along with "Doc" Brown and girlfriend Jennifer Parker, arrived via the flying DeLorean time machine, only to have him purchase a sports almanac that altered future existence.
Multiple Santikos Theaters will be showing screenings of the entire
Back to the Future trilogy tomorrow afternoon and evening. If you have the time (no pun intended) for a five-hour block of Marty and Doc time traveling you can find out more information and purchase tickets at the Santikos
website.
If the lore of
Back to the Future wasn't enough for you then a new comic book series on the universe might be more your thing. Heroes and Fantasies is holding a midnight release of a new
Back to the Future comic book series and their exclusive variant cover. Cover artist NinjaInk will be at Heroes and Fantasies to sign copies of his cover, and there will even be a replica DeLorean. The event begins on October 20 at 11:55 p.m. at 4923 N.W. Loop 410. More information about the event can be found at
heroesandfantasies.com.

For the family types out there or those who enjoy free events, the San Antonio Central Library will be screening both
Back to the Future and
Back to the Future II. The library will screen both films there and hosti craft activities and a trivia night. A DeLorean from Code Up will be on display. Plus there's free snacks. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Check out
www.mysapl.org for more details.
The Alamo Drafthouse at Park North is having their own quote-along of the film. Limited edition glasses and props to offer a more interactive experience will be a part of the quote-along. The quote-along for the film begins October 21 at 6:05 pm at 618 N. W. Loop 410. Sadly, tickets are sold out. If only one had a flux capaciter-powered Delorean so they can travel back in time to when tickets were still available.
It's a momentous day worth celebrating, even though, yes, we still need roads, and we still don't have our hoverboards.
