To celebrate World AIDS Day, UNIFY San Antonio is bringing sexy back at their inaugural Erotic Poetry Slam.

Participants may bring their own original piece, read other people's published works, or even read instructions on how to build a chair as long as they make it sexy.

The slam will be MC'd by Spectrum at UTSA, UTSA's LGBTQ+ focus group. Guest judges will be announced soon, according to the event on Facebook. The grand prize will include a gift basket from Hustler Hollywood, an adult entertainment shopping and retail service in northwest San Antonio. Those under 18 years old can still attend the event and participate in the poetry slam. Sign-up will be available at the event.

Additionally, there will be free HIV testing starting at 8 p.m. and will last all evening.

World AIDS Day originated on December 1, 1998 at the World Summit of Minister of Health on Programmes for AIDS Prevention. This year's theme is "know your status." UNIFY San Antonio is a nonprofit youth organization dedicated to coming together for the LGBTQ+ youth in the fight against HIV and creating sexual health conversations in San Antonio, Texas.
