Spurs fans rejoice! The Red Mamba has signed with San Antonio for a one-year contract for the 10-year veteran minimum salary of $1,448,490. Outside of the Big 3, Bonner is the only player left from the '07 championship team to win a title in 2014. Though his time on the court was limited, Bonner's size, solid consistency from 3 and ability to move the ball provided important minutes for Spurs big men to rest without losing the high quality of team basketball.
In 2014, the 34-year-old power forward averaged 3.2 ppg and 2.1 rpg, playing 11.3 mpg in 61 games. In the playoffs, his numbers were lower, averaging 1.3 ppg and .7rpg, playing 6.1 mpg in 22 games.
In his nine seasons with the Spurs, Bonner has never posted all star numbers, never topping 10 ppg or 5 rpg in a season. But due to his long stint in black and silver, the 6'10" forward has been able to put up some franchise numbers, ranking third in Spurs history in 3's made, seventh in 3-point percentage and ninth in games played.
