As the “Breakfast Taco War of 2016” between Austin and San Antonio continues, Austin will host a slice of San Antonio during SXSW Interactive 2016 to help promote its neighbor to the south. For three days, the Old School Bar & Grill (401 E. 6th St., Austin) will be known as Casa San Antonio.
Located at the corner of Trinity and 6th St., Casa San Antonio will be the cultural embassy for San Antonio at SXSW. Programs, panels, parties and other special events will take place at the two-story venue from March 11-13.
Panels will feature prominent figures and business owners from San Antonio including State Rep. Diego Bernal in “Voter Technology: A Reimagined Future,” Restaurant Gwendolyn and Kimura chef-owner Michael
Casa San Antonio will also host events including multiple networking sessions, yoga classes conducted by Mobile Om Yoga and of course, a Breakfast Tacos & Coffee Networking event every morning. A schedule of panels and event is available at choosesa.org.
Choose San Antonio — a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting San Antonio – partnered with SXSW to bring a bit of San Antonio to the state capital. SXSW Interactive starts March 11-15. It coincides with SXSW Film and then followed by SXSW Music.
