San Antonio Woman Selected to Compete on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's New Show

One local female athlete is ready to take on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Well, she's ready to take on Johnson's challenge to prove her athletic skills on his new NBC series The Titan Games. Jackie "Jax" Wood, a trainer based in San Antonio, will be one of 32 women to undergo an intense physical and mental test on the show.
Wood, 30, said she is "pumped" to accept the challenge, which will bring some of the world's toughest competitors to show off their capabilities. Wood, along with the other titans, was selected from more than 10,000 applicants.

Johnson said the finalists are all "extraordinary athletes with great stories behind them." He's shared snippets of the show on Instagram and says its challenges are based on his own personal workouts.
The Titan Games premieres on NBC on Thursday, January 3 at 7 p.m.
