The Houston-born auteur's newest film, Everybody Wants Some, will make its Texas debut this Saturday in Austin and the Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA) and Austin Film Society are raffling off two tickets to the premiere.
To win tickets to the film whose axiom is "Here for a good time, not a long time," send an email entitled "Enter me in the EMS drawing" to TXMPA here, but don't delay as the drawing will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23 at 5pm. The drawing is open only to TXMPA members, however, you can join the alliance here.
The movie, which Linklater has billed as a sequel to the epic 12-year spanning Boyhood, as well as Dazed and Confused, is set in 1980 in Texas. Jake (Blake Jenner) is off to college and the awaiting baseball team of skirt-chasing scalawags. It's basically a Bad News Bears for the collegiate set, but with Linklater's trademark humor, flair for novel nostalgia and Texas 'tude. And like most Linklater films, this one was shot in Austin, Weimar, San Marcos, Bastrop, Elgin and San Antonio, Texas!
