Wookie Walk Moved To December, But May 4 Star Wars Celebration Still On

If you had your Greedo costume all laid out in preparation for the annual Wookie Walk on May 4, well, we have some sad news for you. This year's annual show of Star Wars cosplay has been pushed back until December 13, 2015, otherwise known as the release date for the much anticipated Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

But don't put that costume away just yet. Wookie Walk organizers have teamed up with the Korova (107 E. Martin) for a special Star Wars marathon on May 4. San Antonio can celebrate the unofficial Star Wars day with a screening that tries its best to make due with the travesty that were the prequels.

Call into work because beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, the Korova will host a "machete" order screening of the Star Wars saga, beginning with Episode VI: A New Hope, followed by The Empire Strikes Back at 4 p.m., then jumping back to Episode II at 6 p.m., Episode III at 9:30 p.m. and finally The Return of the Jedi at 11:30 p.m.

Episode I will rightfully be ignored because Episode I is terrible.

You can read more about the "machete" order here.

The marathon will conclude with a big screen showing of the Episode VII trailer, which you can watch below for what is probably the millionth time.
