1. Brick at Blue Star
108 Blue Star
(210) 262-8653

Taking over the space formally occupied by the Sterling Houston Theater at Jump-Start, Brick at Blue Star has quickly become the go-to Southtown event venue/gallery space for the city's creative class since opening its doors in 2014. By transforming the dark theater space into a bright, open venue, complete with a wine and beer bar, Brick has played host to a number of parties, art exhibits and private gatherings. Best known for the Sunday Brick Marketplace, in which local artisans and vendors gather to sell their handcrafted wares, the space is also home to Tatum Originals, a retail space selling art prints and tees from the eponymous artist, plus original, Texas-made goods.
