Generative Flash Fiction with Andrew Porter

In this introductory workshop, participants will study different types of flash fiction, discuss effective strategies for working within the constraints of this form, and complete in-class writing prompts to develop these exercises into more polished flash pieces. Finally, for those interested in sharing, time will be set aside during the second class for students to share their flash-in-progress with the group. Workshop participants will leave with the following: An understanding of the fundamentals of flash fiction, Strategies for generating successful flash fiction, A first-draft flash fiction piece. Event is hybrid, via Zoom and in-person at Gemini Ink.
