Essentially four solo shows under one umbrella, Centro de Artes’ new exhibition “Nuestra Latinidad” combines Houston-based artist Delilah Montoya’s ethnographic project “Contemporary Casta Portraiture: Nuestra Calidad”; San Antonio photographer Joshua Perez’s documentary series “Todo Está Bien, Everything’s Good”; Seattle-based Chicano artist Jake Prendez’s social/cultural investigation “Genetic Memory: Xinachtli to Xochitl”; and Chicago artist Gabriel Villa’s “Human Drive,” which pairs large-scale paintings and drawings that focus on “public housing, urban surveillance cameras, the marginalized, gang culture, family, religion and gentrification.”
