Thursday, July 16: The Hangar Bar & Grill is rolling out their monthly Craft Beer Tasting event with a new array of samples. Featured on the tasting list are SweetWater, Freetail, Saint Arnold, Boerne Brewery, Sierra Nevada, Southern Tier and Big Sky Brewing Co.'s. Saturday, July 18: Who will be crowned the boozy ice cream supreme? Dorcol Distilling Co. is ready to find out with it's first-ever Summer Ice Cream and Cocktail Social. Artisan ice cream makers such as Brindles and Cocina Heritage are competing to perfect the summertime adult treat for a panel of judges in order to be named Helado Borracho, San Antonio's Official Boozy Ice Cream. Admission includes ice cream samples from all participants, live music and more activities. Cocktails and food trucks will also be available. $10, 8-10:30pm, 1902 S. Flores St., (210) 229-0607

Saturday, July 18: Buy the ticket, take the ride. The San Antonio Public Library Foundation's First Edition Society is throwing a Gonzo Tiki Party in honor of Hunter S. Thompson's 78th birthday. Thompson, famed Rolling Stone reporter and author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, is posthumously celebrated with a pig roast by Mark "Wildcat" Garcia of Alchemy Kombucha and Culture, tiki drinks by Milan & Turin Co., and snacks by The Bees Knees Catering Co. Proceeds from the birthday bash will benefit the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.$ 40-50, free admission for First Edition Members, 8-11pm, 1119 S. Wednesday, July 22: The Witte Museum is joining the dinosaur buzz with it's Dinosaurs and Cinema-themed Cocktails and Culture. Curator Dr. Thomas Adams of Paleontology and Geology at the Witte will lead a panel of film industry experts to discuss how the Jurassic Park franchise and pop culture have sparked a new interest in dinosaurs and fossils. Along with the panel, enjoy food and beverages by Taqueria Aranda, Smoke Shack and the Alamo Beer Company. $12 per person or two reservations for $20, 6:30-8:30pm, 3801 Broadway, (210) 357-1900

Wednesday, July 22: Starfish Global Seafood Restaurant is celebrating it's one year anniversary by launching a new wine dinner series, starting with "Oysters & Bubbly." Each of the six courses feature a unique oyster infusion paired with a "bubbly" drink inspired by chef Diego Fernandez.  Tickets must be bought in advance of the dinner. $75, 6:30pm, 709 S.
