5 Ways to Get Your Drink/Grub on This Week

Friday, May 20 Tim Doi Backyard #StreetEats: Pop-ups don't get any more street than Tim Doi's final showing in San Antonio. Prepared by chefs Jerald Head (currently with New York City's An Choi) and Kane William Sorrells (Austin's Qui) both formerly with Arcade Midtown Kitchen, this Southeast Asian kitchen delivers delicious street food flavors. Visit with Head and Sorrrells before they head to New York City. Prices vary, 9pm-midnight, Friday-Saturday, Stay Golden Social House, 401 Pearl Pkwy.

Sunday, May 22 Barbacoa & Big Red Festival: Somehow the sixth annual celebration of San Antonio's most puro combination is once again upon us. Sample barbacoa from previous winners, including Rio's Barbacoa, Pepe's Barbacoa, Celorio Tortillas y Barbacoa and last year's victor, Tortilleria del Barrio. Enjoy music, and, of course, chingos of Big Red to wash down all the barbacoa. $5-$10 in advance, 10-$15 at the door, 10am-8:30pm, 18086 Pleasanton Road, (210) 628-6200, barbacoabigredfestival.com.

Pig Jig 2: Don't be fooled by Park Social's super chill exterior. The craft cocktail bar will host Pig Jig 2, the second blowout of its kind with even more tricks up their already rolled up sleeves. Guests can expect a Caja China roasted pork, frozen guava Negronis, kimchi-grilled oysters, pitchers of punch, boozy popsicles, porrons of cheap rosé and happy hour prices all day. If that weren't enough, attendees should be ready to ditch their shoes as they hop into the bouncy house. Hopefully, before eating all those oysters. Prices vary, 5-11pm, Park Social, 224 E. Olmos Drive, (210) 822-0100, facebook.com/parksocialsa.
