8 Can't Miss SA Beer Week Events

San Antonio Beer Week is upon us and with all the beer flowing around town, there are a few events that must be attended and there are some beers that must be gulped.


Tuesday, May 13 

Local beer writer, Jeremy Banas and Eugene Simor of Alamo Beer are celebrating the golden age of homebrewing at the new Alamo Brewery Grounds (718 N Cherry) from 6 to 9 p.m. with brewing samples and brewing process talk. San Antonio Homebrew Supply, Bake, Broil and Brew, local brew clubs and food trucks will be in attendance for this free event.

Wednesday, May 14

Blue Star Brewing Co. (1414 S Alamo) is hosting brewing art 2014 with painting and drinking from 7 to 10p.m. Pinot's Palette will provide art supplies and an artist instructor to walk painter/drinkers step by step.

Ranger Creek will have a beer dinner at Big Hops Gastropub (22250 Bulverde) from 6:30 to 10 p.m. with five courses of food and beer pairings. Seats are $50 per person.

Thursday, May 15

Ladies, it's another Girls' Pint Out at Stella Public House (1414 S Alamo) with beer cocktails at 7 p.m. Dates and cocktail dresses are encouraged.

Friday, May 16

The Luxury (103 E Jones) is tapping Saint Arnold Homefront IPA all day with profits benefitting Operation Homefront.

Saturday, May 17

Tuk Tuk Taproom (1702 Broadway) will have a dim sum brunch at 11 a.m. with Saint Arnold Lawnmower pints for $3.50 and a live DJ.

Branchline Brewing Co. will be at Big Hops (8313 Broadway) for a Branchline cask night at 5 p.m.

Sunday, May 18

Whole Foods Vineyard (18403 Blanco) is closing out Beer Week with a Southern Tier special tapping from 12 to 9:30 p.m. with a pumpkin ale and an imperial barley wine from Southern Tier. Whole Foods Market Growler fills are $1 and $2 off on Sundays.
