A second location for Pizza Patron recently opened at 2913 West Ave. The first location opened in November 2003 at 1320 S.W. Military Drive. A large pizza, with four or more toppings is $6.99, a half pizza is $4.59.

More than beer and good times: Need some grub with your suds? Tuna Grill has opened inside La Tuna, a Southtown fixture at 100 Probandt.

Biga on the Banks will discontinue its Sunday brunch beginning in January. The remaining December brunches will be held from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Price is $32 for adults and $17 for children 12 and under. For reservations, call 225-0722.

The River Walk fixture will open for special Sunday holidays, including Easter and Mother's Day.

Will Thornton, a culinary arts instructor at St. Philip's College was elected to a two-year term as director of the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association. He will serve until August 2006.

Keith Sheller is the new vice president of sales at Granito Coffee Works, a San Antonio-based company that specializes in developing high-end coffee extracts and coffee-based beverages. The company's whole bean coffee line is marketed under the Aspen Select brand.

'B' is for breakfast

Hard Rock Café is hosting a Christmas breakfast for children to meet Santa on December 11 from 8-10am. Each child will receive a party bag and souvenir photo. Hard Rock Café is located at 111 W. Crockett. For reservations call 224-0743.

'D' is for dining

Marriott Plaza Hotel Executive Chef Lou Lambert demonstrates an elegant holiday dinner at Central Market, 4821 Broadway, on Friday, December 10 from 6:30-9 pm. The menu includes Texas shrimp and oyster stew, warm sweetbread salad with wild mushrooms, winter greens and hazelnut vinaigrette, salt-and-pepper-crusted rib roast with balsamic braised cipollini, and maple brioche bread pudding with bourbon hard sauce and chantilly whipped cream. 'PB&J' is for peanut butter and jelly

The San Antonio Food Bank is asking for donations of sealed plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly to help the homeless. Info: 337-3663.

'T' is for tearoom

Through December 19, the Teddy Bear Tea in Apple Annie's Tea Room, 555 W. Bitters, hosts a holiday celebration every Sunday from 3:30-4:30 pm. Events include special holiday tea desserts and beverages, a make-and-take activity, holiday book reading, and keepsakes for children. For information and price listings, call 494-3226.

'W' is for wine

Sun Harvest hosts two holiday wine seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 14 and 15 at 7pm. Tuesday's seminar is at 17700 Highway 281 North; Wednesday's is at 8101 Callaghan. Cost is $5 and includes wine and cheese samples.
