Aspen's Brew Will Close After 12 Years in Business

In sad coffee news, Aspen's Brew Cafe & Catering will close its doors on Saturday, December 23.

The news comes via a post by Kim Montgomery, one of the owners of the shop, which first opened in 2006. In the Facebook post Montgomery notes high a 40 percent rent increase by property manager Whitestone REIT. "This increase is unsustainable in our market segment. It is with a heavy heart we have come to a final decision to close the retail side of our doors after 12 years," says management in the post.

The Huebner coffee shop is one of the first in the city, and definitely one of its longest-lasting. It's a place for students and friend hangs and dates and will be sorely missed according to the community that's poured its sentiments on the Facebook post.

11255 Huebner Road, Suite 100, (210) 561-5551.
