The women behind Baking For A Cause are helping San Anto Cultural Arts this time around.
Andrea Morgan and a specialty team of fellow pastry chefs will be showcasing and selling their craft during the second
"Baking for a Cause" bake sale, with proceedings going toward
San Anto Cultural Arts on Sunday, June 14 at
Beethoven Maennerchor (422 Pereida St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
With a total of 28 years of baking experience, these local ladies are providing a sweet escape for the Alamo City, from breakfast favorites to alternative delights. The group previously fundraised for the Battered Women's Shelter during Fiesta. Morgan is a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu and is the pastry chef at
Hotel Valencia (150 E. Houston St.). Angela Christopher has nine years of baking experience runs Heartbroken Baking. Maricela Olguin is the owner of
Sweet Chela's Bakery (2118 Cincinnati Ave.) and a self-taught baker. Roxie Monroe is a graduate from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of San Antonio and specializes in petite pastries.
The women will be joined by a few special guests including Josh Cross of
Toro Taco Bar, who will whip up his tasty goat pop tarts; Bertha Borjon of
Sabores Food Truck, who'll be making mini tacos; and chef Andrew Gutierrez of
SA Pops, who will add sweet paletas to the mix.
