Azúca Celebrates Celia Cruz

A two-day Celebration in honor of Celia Cruz will take place on Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17, 5 pm-close, at Azúca Bar and Grill, 713 S. Alamo. Painter Carla Veliz will be exhibiting La Negra de Colores, a collection featuring several figurative paintings of Celia Cruz, and an 11-piece salsa merengue band, Tropicante. Info: 225-5550.


Bartender Competition

The Quest for the Best Bartender Competition will be held Tuesday, July 20, 9 pm-midnight at Sherlock's Baker St. Pub & Grill, 16620 Hwy 281. Bartenders from San Antonio and surrounding areas will compete for a $100 prize and a chance to advance to the state finals on Tuesday, August 17. Registration begins at 7:30 pm. Chefs At Whole Foods
