Cinephiles Can Watch Horror Classics at Bar 1919 Tuesdays in October

Bar 1919 in the Blue Star Arts Complex is showing double feature horror favorites every Tuesday in the month of October, all leading up to a spook-tacular party at the bar on Halloween.

The terrifying movie line up was created by bartender Corey Farmer. The movies start at 8 p.m. and will show in the private room of the bar. There will be a $7 cocktail that matches the theme of the week, along with 1919's typical shot specials, and, as always, $4 Jameson.

This past week the bar was streaming Shaun of the Dead and 28 Weeks Later, and to go along with it a $7 Zombie Proof cocktail made with over proof rum, house made orgeat, Green Charteruse, and lime juice . The event will continue every week with double features each night. For October 10, the bar will zero in on a mask theme with  the original IT and Halloween. October 17 is set to be a gore fest showing Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cabin in the Woods. On October 24, Bar 1919 is rounding off with ghoul-centric movies playing The Exorcist and The Ring. The last Tuesday of the month, Halloween itself, Farmer hinted that there would be a party at the basement bar. Stay tuned to their Facebook for more details.
