Los Barrios is heading north again. This time, the storied Tex-Mex institution known for pillowy puffy tacos and hospitality will takeover Scenic Loop Cafe.
The Cafe, which opened in 1991 will close tonight and the Barrios family will launch La Hacienda Scenic Loop on Sunday morning said Diana Barrios-Treviño of the project that started in early May.
"We're focusing on the historic value of Scenic Loop," Barrios-Treviño said. So while some cosmetic changes will be made, the restaurant will try to marry elements of both. This will kick off Sunday with brunch from 9 to 2 p.m., where the menu will reflect some brunch favorites from Scenic Loop including the house-made sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, along with chilaquiles, carne guisada, chorizo and egg and a fresh fruit.
Other favorites from Scenic Loop will stay on the regular menu including the burger and chicken friend steak with other menu items landing as chalkboard specials on any given day. Otherwise expect a similar menu to Los Barrios, La Hacienda de los Barrios and Viola's Ventanas.
La Hacienda Scenic Loop will open at 9 a.m.
