Leave The Limes at Home For National Tequila Day at Market Square

On thirsty Thursday, July 19 from 6 to 10 p.m., you can pay your respects to National Tequila Day by attending a block party at Market Square. Leave the lime and salt at home, grab some friends and try your best to forget those more unfortunate Jose Cuervo-fueled nights from college.

The event will be hosted by La Familia Cortez Restaurants, the owners of local festive staples Mi Tierra and La Margarita Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Expect to escape the earth-scorching mid-July heat with their tasty botanas, live music by Arturo Gutierrez and signature tequila flights. Order your flight at La Margarita and they’ll help you chase it all down with a full size boozy paleta drink. When all is consumed, you’ll be given a ballot to indicate which of the four tequila shots you were most partial to.

If you're thinking of committing to the holiday, here are some spots to nurse that hangover.

Tickets are $25 at the door from 6 to 9 p.m. at La Margarita Restaurant and Oyster Bar.
