The San Antonio chapter of the U.S. Bartenders' Guild is hosting a fundraising night for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. On Thursday, 55 bars around town will each offer a Southside cocktail using Seersucker gin priced at $7. Guest who bring in donations of bottled water, new clothes and nonperishable goods can pay $5 for their cocktail.

But Chris Ware of Azar Distilling hopes bar-goers dig deep and pay as much as they can for their Southside to help relief efforts.

"We want folks to pay $20, $500, $1,000," he said over the phone while noting he hopes to reach a $20,000 goal that evening.

Big time donors won't go unrewarded. Ware's secured several $100 gift cards to area restaurants including Peggy's in Boerne, Biga (which matched his donation and brought the total up to $200), Bohanan's, Chisme, Barbaro and Hot Joy. The grand prize for the most philanthropic of donors is a four-course Indian food dinner for eight people by the owners of Bombay Salsa Co. and bartending by Ware.

Donations will be dropped off to Houston and other affected areas early next week.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 55 bars have signed up including two in Laredo, one in Boerne and one in New Braunfels. Here's the list of participants so far:
