There are already many great places to get BBQ in Texas, but a new challenger is about to enter the pit.
Veteran pitmaster Christopher Haynes is ready to join the battle with his new food trailer 1836 BBQ
. Having worked as a pitmaster for eight years, Haynes says his new establishment (which was named after the year the Republic of Texas was founded) will mainly focus on high-quality meats and expert-level cooking techniques.
In addition to Black Angus prime cut brisket, Haynes will be serving regular and jalapeño sausages, pulled pork, smoked chickens, and ribs. He will also have sides, such as garlic cheese cubed potatoes, butter garlic corn, pinto beans, and more.
He plans to park the blue trailer on 1365 West County Line Road in New Braunfels. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (or sell out) every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He intends to open shop by mid-December.
Haynes hopes that this trailer spot will eventually lead to an actual, physical building location for 1836 BBQ. Until then, this barbecue is looking like it will be more than worth the drive to New Braunfels.
