Shoot it or sip it, either way it goes down smooth.
Not usually one for straight shots (they only lead to mayhem and destruction), I couldn't pass up this particular one.
Tucked away on the marquee awning of the Majestic during the San Antonio Cocktail Conference's opening night party, the sampling of Mount Gay Rum's Black Barrel was delicious and smooth. The small batch rum is aged aged in deeply charred bourbon oak barrels, which gave it a particularly warm and a sweet finish.
While I'm sure it would make a mean Roosevelt cocktail, the Black Barrel label could also easily be used in bourbon recipes.
