After a grand opening bash this past Thursday, and a brief hiatus sorting out permits,
The Rustic is now open.
The 28,000-square-foot mega-venue/restaurant/bar makes three SA joints for Dallas' Free Range Concepts (which also added The General Public and Bowl & Barrel to the Rim), and happens to be backed by Thursday headliner and San Antonio's own Pat Green. The Rustic in Dallas opened four years ago.
For its first Sunday, The Rustic will will be serving Sunday Supper (usually $17.95) to all first responders, police officers and fire fighters for free. This includes a choice of fried chicken, wood-grilled chicken, double cut pork chop with unlimited sides such as green salad, simple mashed potatoes, jalapeño spoon bread, white hominy and "Clean & Green," a seasonal steamed veg.
“Due to our desire to achieve the highest quality safety systems possible and thanks to the help of San Antonio’s amazing fire department, we now have one of the most sophisticated fire safety systems around,” said Kyle Noonan, co-founder and owner of FreeRange Concepts via press release.
First responders who can't make it on Sunday (from 2 p.m. to close) can still enjoy a 25 percent discount on food all day, every day. This includes all members of the military and uniformed police officers, firefighters and paramedics.
The Rustic will also offer Jam and Toast Brunch served family style from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, with live music beginning at 12:30 p.m. Opening hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday.
