I'm a fan of twee places. I'm an even bigger fan of twee places filled with French-style pastries. The owners of Saveurs 209 (209 Broadway) have opened La Boulangerie (207 Broadway) adjacent to their first eatery and Francophiles with a sweet tooth will definitely enjoy this one.
Hours for La Boulangerie will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The will include pastries and tarts including chocolate eclairs and strawberry and vanilla choux, baguettes, and laminated Viennoiseries and cakes such as croissants, apple turnovers and Madeleines. Sandwiches, two types of quiches, salads and soups are also available along with fizzy drinks, hot tea, coffee and cappuccino with prices ranging form $2-$9 across the board.
The space is filled with tall wooden benches, bright pallet furniture with plush, bright pink and orange cushions and more wooden storage in the form of shelving.
