On their second EP Anomalous, Donella Drive takes the road less traveled with pure, unbridled rock ‘n’ roll.
The raw power of Ella Macias’ anything-but-dulcet vocals, backed by the Andrew Salazar’s funky bass, Aidan Escalante’s face melting guitar riffs and Colt Wrangler Lyons vein-popping drumming gives the band their signature sound: hard rock with multi-genre embellishments. Imagine taking a shot of tiger blood after a marathon of arm-numbing air guitar to grasp what makes up Donella Drive.
“Yes, I’ll make sure this is the last time I look your way,” belts out Macias on the appropriately titled single “Dead Man,” weaving a tale about breaking away from the bondage of a tumultuous relationship. “Shadow People” adds focus to melody and somber tones, while “Paranoia” is aggressive and confrontational.
The "Anomalous" release party will take place at Hi-Tones with The Heroine, Lonely Horse and RMRS.
