Although he was inaccurately credited as being "Radiohead's manager" in numerous publications, Brian Message, a partner in Courtyard Management, may have let the mongrel cat* out of the bag. Stating in an interview with The Guardian, and several days before at an event at London's Wanstead Tap, Message remarked to a room of a privileged 30 that the next record from the world's biggest band will come out sometime in June.
He described the release, rather simply, as "something that will probably make many of us go, 'Wow!' ... There’s nothing out there right now that sounds anything like this. And for some people that will be a good thing and for others that probably won’t."
OK.
The group is currently debating whether or not to release it on streaming services, something of which frontman Thom Yorke has been very vocally opposed.
In regards to the streaming service issue, Message remarked in his interview with The Guardian, "I’m looking forward to the day it does come out. And I hope – I really hope – it does come out on streaming services. To say that’s been answered, believe me it hasn’t, but I’m praying every night that it does."
The album, whose name has yet to be released, will be the first since 2011's dance-heavy King of Limbs.
* a reference to the terrifying industrial dirge "Myxomatosis" off of 2003's Hail to the Thief.
