Michigan Rockers Pop Evil to Play the Aztec Theatre

Entertainment One
A rock n’ roll band blending the earnestness of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden with the celebratory showmanship of Mötley Crüe and KISS, Michigan’s Pop Evil conjures aggressive riffs and hard-charging sing-a-longs with emotional heft and melodic power in equal measure. Sure, they definitely have a twinge of that late ’90s/early-aughts vibe that has carried into the 2010s under the guise of “active-rock,” so if you dig bands like Shinedown, Seether and 3 Doors Down, you might want to be at this show.

$20, Thu March 8, 7:30pm, Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 812-4355, theaztectheatre.com.
