Pile, a band that just uncomfortably enough straddles the lines between indie rock, noise rock and post-punk, puts on an impressive live show. Active since the late aughts, the Boston four-piece has put out seven albums to date, with its latest Green and Gray released on May 3. From the taste we have gotten so far, the new album proves as interesting and nuanced as the rest of the band’s catalog, which is quite a feat for an act as prolific as Pile.

For those unfamiliar with Pile’s work, Bandcamp and Spotify will provide ample study materials — we suggest you start with 2012’s Dripping. Suffice it to say though, if you consider yourself a fan of post-punk, you’ll probably vibe to what Pile is bringing to the table.

$13-$15, Sun May 12, 8pm, Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St., papertigersatx.com.
