Piñata Protest commandeered NPR's Alt.Latino feature today, breaking down the influences that created the San Anto quartet (hint: half punk, half tejano/ranchera, 100 percent San Antonio). Hosted by Jasmine Garsd and Felix Contreras, the recurring program takes a listen to the Chicano borders of American music, where Afro-Caribbean and Latin American styles mesh beautifully with the anglo feel.
